Brief Description

The second workshop on chemicals and waste statistics in Costa Rica was held at the Hotel Radisson in San José, Costa Rica, on the 25th and 26th of June 2019, hosted by the Directorate of Environmental Health of the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. The objective of this second workshop was to review and validate the National Data Report produced by the national consultant hired by the Ministry, Dr. Kathia Elizondo, since the first workshop in November 2018. The Report was presented in detail by Dr. Elizondo, extensive feedback was received from participants representing sectoral administrations and ministries, and a final version of the report was prepared and delivered to the Ministry and UNEP shortly afterwards. The UN University’s SCYCLE program also contributed significantly to this workshop via remote presentation of their e-waste data collection tools, including the E-waste Generated Tool and the POM Tool.
